I have heard to never pray for patience!!! Is this true or is it being legalistic??

The saying that we should never pray for patience is an old wive’s tale, so don’t worry about that. If you want patience to be active in your life, the Bible is very clear about how to go about it: You set forth acts of faith, and patience will be developed as you stand fast no matter what comes your way.

It’s simple. Using faith develops patience - which is endurance, a steadfastness, and an unchangeableness no matter what changes around you.

I recommend that you read Hebrews 10:35-39 and James 1:2-4 for more insight.
